Hmmmpf!!
I instals meself a loyal Governor o' the formerly Spanish (now
liberated!) colony o' Puerto Santo (the one jus' across the
Windward Passage frum Tortuga). Anyways, this is in late 1644. Me
grateful officer duly gives me a mission ta pick up his friend
Harry frum his hiding place in Havana (where some pestilential
privateers is after him).
So I sails me
small fleet ta Havana and after a quick visit ta the market, I
sails out and starts me raid via one o' the two beaches. Sendin' 5
men an' 2 officers ashore ta scout around, I eventually finds
Harry... guess where? The blastit idiot is in th' sea, about 3
ships' lengths frum the dock!!! And he has 2 frigates guardin' him
(I know Davey Jones' Locker be a good place ta hide many of yer
sins, I's despatched "friendly" nations' ships there
many a time, but Harry mus' be one **** of a swimmer). I distracts
the frigates away with me pinnace "Polly" (named after
me favrit Morganette) and duly destroys 'em with me flagship
"Midnight Scourge", pickin' up some booty. But I cannot
pick up Moist Harry by land (tryin' ta capture him) or sea (tryin'
ta salvage him). Even weirder, every time I sails over him or
attacks the land, he is joined in his watery perambulations by a
peasant man... there now be 5 of e'm all havin' a jolly swim!
After two or
three separate raids (always with the same result) I gave up and
reported back to Peurto Santo
Can't complain
too much though. Despite bein' aggrived that I had
"failed" me mission, he still gave me a 10,000-peso /
5-jewel Treasure Map fer a beach near me old haunt of San Andres!
Anyone managed
this dang "Rescue Harry" mission???
I reckon
achievin' all the missions be a better achievement than conquerin'
every port.
